Translations

The leaflets and tools below have been translated and produced for local use.

In the case of AUDIT translations WHO guidance should be followed. This states that, "With regard to translation into other languages, it should be noted that the AUDIT questions have been translated into Spanish, Slavic, Norwegian, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Swahili, and several other languages. These translations are vailable by writing to the Department of Mental Health and Substance Dependence, World Health Organization, 1211 Geneva 27, Switzerland. Before attempting to translate AUDIT into other languages, interested individuals should consult with WHO Headquarters about the procedures to be followed.." [WHO 2001]

  This is a commercial iphone application and not endorsed by the Department of Health but does combine units, calories and blood alcohol which may be useful as an IBA training aid.
• Videos and tools from NHS Choices
  Selection of alcohol related videos and tools from NHS Choices. It is possible to use these for your own website for free by becoming a syndicate partner of NHS Choices.

Alcohol Withdrawal and Detoxification

The following leaflets were produced by the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust Addictions Services to provide staff with patient information guidance for withdrawal and detox.
