Alcohol-attributable fractions for England (Alcohol-attributable mortality and hospital admissions)
Updated on 25/05/2012
In England, alcohol-attributable fractions (AAFs) are annually applied to Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) and mortality data by the North West Public Health Observatory (NWPHO) to provide an indication of the public health effects of alcohol. The calculation of AAFs was based on the most recent population estimates of alcohol consumption data in England and the best risk estimates extracted from the published literature.
