- Addenbrookes Hospital Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) Research Study and Pocket Guide (0WBC)
Drinking alcohol during pregnancy can result in a number of disorders in the baby collectively referred to as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), or Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Characterised by minor facial abnormalities, growth retardation, behavioural problems, and neurological signs, it is totally preventable by maternal abstinence from alcohol.
- Addenbrookes Hospital A&E Data Sharing (P3NU)
Dr Adrian Boyle has been involved in data sharing at Addenbrookes Hospital for around three years, and is now rolling out the project across the region.
The project is based on the Cardiff model and consists of an extra item added to the patient registration document asking where an alcohol related assault has taken place. This helps police and other bodies gather information about crime hot spots in the area.
- Bath Project 28 Alcohol and Sexual Health (ASH) Project (ARSQ)Focused Identification and Brief Advice (IBA) strategy aimed at young people who are currently drinking at increasing risk and high risk levels and are sexually active.
- Bexley Treatment Care Pathway Guidance (O2TG)
The Bexley Alcohol Care Pathway Guide was developed over 2008 by the Alcohol Strategy Group and in consultation with all service providers in the borough.
The guide sets out the tiers of alcohol interventions as described in the Models of Care for Alcohol Misuse (MoCAM) and outlines what services are available locally to address each of these tier needs.
The guide is targeted for use by alcohol practitioners, GP's and other services that might come into contact with alcohol misuse such as Neighbourhood Coordinators.

- Blackpool | Polycarbonate Glasses (ICBP)Since January 2009 the Blackpool | Polycarbonate Glass scheme has provided town centre venues with safe, indestructible glasses, which display a social marketing message and unit information. These glasses were developed to reduce the harm caused by smashed glass and alcohol-related violence, and to support the ALTN8 (social marketing) campaign.
- Blackpool | Providing alcohol identification and brief advice to hypertensive patients (QUOP)This project was triggered by the Alcohol Harm Reduction National Support Team (NST) visit to Blackpool in September 2008. Evidence presented by the NST outlined that Identification and Brief Advice sessions could be targeted towards people with increased risk of chronic ill health in particular those suffering from hypertension - high blood pressure.
