National Support Teams

An National Alcohol Support Team (NST) will support PCTs and their partner organisations in areas with the highest rates of alcohol related hospital admissions to review their commissioning and delivery systems for alcohol harm reduction and identify what improvements could be made.
The NST must be invited in by a PCT and will carry out a structured diagnostic visit that involves leaders, commissioners and those delivering services from the local organisations that contribute to alcohol harm reduction. The visit is followed by a tailored support package designed to increase their capacity to achieve the VSC 26 target.
