Local Alcohol Profiles
Local Alcohol Profiles for England (LAPE) measure alcohol misuse in each of the 354 Local Authority areas and each of the 152 PCTs in England. This site uses 23 different indicators, including new data for the National Indicator 39 hospital admissions for alcohol-related harm, months of life lost due to alcohol misuse, and alcohol related violent crimes. The indicators are based on national data sources with an estimation factor for each local area applied where appropriate. The profiles compare each area rating to the national average and highlight indicators which are significantly better or significantly worse than average. The site has guidance documents on various topics including on how the VSC 26 indicator was created, new alcohol attributable fractions for England and guidance on understanding the dataset .
LAPE provides valuable data for PCTs and LA's for understanding local need.
